Fernando Fuenmayor, better known as DJ FerFuenmayor, has been for more than three decades, the creator of magical nights for countless festivities in his native Venezuela. His passion for music and unique style has allowed him to share in the joy and exhilaration of hundreds of parties and celebrations. His well-earned reputation reflects his special touch which Fuenmayor imparts to the best private parties, celebrations, concerts, and nightclub events.

He now lives in Miami, the gateway to the Americas, to bring his musical party rhythms outside of his native land that witnessed and nurtured his artistic growth. Recognized for his talents in the field of audio visual productions and social media, he realized that music has been the driving force for his most significant accomplishments. “My life revolved to the beat of musical trends and styles. My father was a huge influence on my musical growth,
ingraining on me the love for different genres, opera being the most significant. Popular music such as bolero, salsa and even the Beatles".
He was still a student when he experienced being a DJ with several friends. They came together to provide the music for a school party which was announced through the loudspeakers. “Fuenmayor will bring the equipment and provide the music”. It was the beginning of this life-long journey.

It was in this manner, small steps at a time that Fuenmayor began to perfect his technique and create his style resulting in his “Miniteca Skyway.” These were the 80’s and other famous DJ personalities such as the Betelgues, New York, New York, and Sandy land were in their prime when we took the step to join the movement and step into the grand stage.
DJ FerFuenmayor has been an innovator in the work of tropical music. He has produced remixes of dance songs from some of Venezuela’s most popular orchestras such as Los Melodicos, La Billo’s, Miguel Molly and his favorite Diveana. It should be noted that he was the creator of the mixed hits “Fiesta de Merengue” which was awarded “Golden Disc” and double platinum in all its editions.

When asked about the secret to his success, DJ admits that it is not based on a beautiful and glossy portfolio, on the ability to press a few buttons, rather it is the ability to transform yourself into a psychologist or sociologist able to decipher what the public wants to hear and what it does not. The key is to analyze the audience you are dealing with and have the intuitive ability to play the type of music at just the right moment for their optimal enjoyment.
When DJ-ing, it is important not to break the magic of the movement. The night is like a beautiful woman you have asked on a date. You cannot be a brute, rather one must surprise and intrigue her little by little so that she will see join you in the joy of the moment. Similarly and undoubtedly, the public needs to be seduced in such a manner.

DJ FerFuenmayor views Miami as a city alive with a vibrant night life very colorful and multicultural. It is a happy metropolis that brings together the various tastes of the region enchanting those that engage in its vitality. DJ FerFuenmayor hopes that the public will recognize and value his role as the creator of countless unforgettable moments and occasions. Being a DJ is a form of self-expression and a means to bring life and joy to a celebration. It is living in the moment, having a good time. DJ FerFuenmayor describes his profession in three words: “Creativity, Passion and Consistency”. Undoubtedly all of these run deep in his veins.
Fernando Fuenmayor, mejor conocido como Dj FerFuenmayor, ha sido el creador, por más de tres décadas, de la magia de la noche en infinitas fiestas de Venezuela. Su pasión por la música y su particular estilo le han permitido compartir en cientos de escenarios y así ganar una sólida reputación al darle su toque a las mejores celebraciones privadas, conciertos y clubes nocturnos.
Ahora llega a la puerta de Las Américas, Miami, para llevar sus ritmos de fiesta fuera de las fronteras que lo vieron crecer como profesional. Comunicador Social y destacado en el campo de la producción audiovisual, confiesa que la música ha sido protagonista de los grandes momentos de su vida. “Mi crianza giró en torno a los beats y los acordes musicales. Mi papá ha sido un gran melómano, y fue quien me inculcó la pasión por diferentes géneros siendo la ópera el principal. Sin embargo, los ritmos populares también tomaron su espacio, es por ello que el bolero, la salsa o incluso Los Beatles, de la mano de mi hermano mayor, estuvieron siempre presentes en casa”.
Sus primeros pasos en el mundo del Dj-ing los dio en su época de estudiante, junto a unos compañeros de clases. “Nos juntamos un grupo de amigos para musicalizar una fiesta del colegio que se anunció por los parlantes internos al decir “Fuenmayor traerá la miniteca”. En ese momento mi vida cambio y fue el inicio de este viaje”.

De esta forma, fue dando pequeños pasos, que le ayudaron a perfeccionar la técnica e ir tomando un matiz más formal. Es así como se crea la miniteca SkyWay. Era la década de los 80’s y el movimiento musical vivía un buen momento. “Existían otras minitecas muy famosas como Betelgueus, New York - New York y Sandy Lane, cuando decidimos compartir las principales tarimas con las grandes del momento y así fue”.
Dj FerFuenmayor ha innovado en el mundo musical tropical, ya que ha producido remixes de canciones bailables no anglo de importantes orquestas en Venezuela como Los Melódicos, La Billo’s, Miguel Molly y, la que él define como su consentida, Diveana. Cabe destacar, que fue el creador de la serie de discos mezclados “Fiebre del Merengue”, la cual obtuvo un Disco de Oro y doble platino en todas sus ediciones ".
Al preguntarle sobre el secreto para ser Dj, nos confiesa que este no radica en tener un lindo portafolio de fotos y subirse a una tarima a oprimir botones. Para DJ FerFuenmayor, ser Dj es convertirte en un psicólogo social para descifrar que quiere escuchar la gente y que no. De igual forma, debes ser integral: “Reconocer y analizar la audiencia a la cual te diriges, intuir qué música colocar y el momento justo para hacerlo”.
“En el Dj-ing es importante no romper la magia. La noche es como una mujer a quien se invita a salir y con la que no debes irte de bruces… Cautivarla y sorprenderla con detalles para que acepte celebrar contigo. Sin duda se debe ir seduciendo al público poco a poco. “
En cuanto a su llegada a Miami, Dj FerFuenmayor señala que la cuidad posee una movida nocturna muy nutrida, colorida y es multicultural. “Es una urbe muy alegre, que fusiona sabores y encanta a quienes la degustan. Miami te da la oportunidad de compartir con un público apasionante que proviene de diferentes partes del mundo y vienen a disfrutar. Te permite ser amplio en lo que a oferta musical se refiere. También te da la posibilidad de estar con tus pares internacionales, para así compartir experiencia y seguir creciendo en este fascinante mundo”.
Su aspiración es que el público reconozca y valore su trabajo como creador de momentos inolvidables. Hacer Dj-ing es una forma de expresarse, de darle vida y alegría a una celebración. Es pasar un buen rato y hacérselo pasar a los que están presentes para que disfruten gracias al conocimiento de cómo se vive.
Dj FerFuenmayor confiesa que su profesión se describe a través de tres palabras: “Creatividad, Pasión y Constancia”. Sin duda, condiciones que corren por sus venas.
